For this project I intend to design a non-linear narrative. To accomplish this I decided to make a simple interactive adventure for young kids. The title of this project is Franz Goes to the Circus; the user assumes the role of Franz and tours the circus.
Within the circus Franz can choose to go on the rides or play some games in the circus tent. When Franz chooses to go on the rides, a humorous animations plays. Franz gets sick then vomits. The user then has the option to return to the circus. Upon returning to the circus the user can either watch the animation again or go to the tent for games. In the games tent users can choose from two simple games, high card and cup switch. In high card an animated arm deals three cards, the user can choose a card, if it is the ace they win. The user then has the option to play again or return to the games tent. In cup switch, an animated arm places a cup over a ball and switches the position of two more identical cups. The user has to keep an eye on the cup with the ball underneath.
This interactive adventure is best targeted towards children or anyone with short attentions spans who appreciate a cheap laugh. The materials used to create it were Illustrator and Flash.
